Dear Community Members,
In compliance with Governor Lamont's Executive Order 7B and with guidance provided by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education advising that Boards of Education should "...meet only to discuss and/or vote on agenda items requiring action immediately...(and)...should postpone routine business and subcommittee meetings until the state of emergency is lifted" we are cancelling all regularly scheduled Board of Education meetings, subcommittee meetings, adhoc committees, task force meetings, etc... during the ongoing State of Emergency, unless otherwise properly posted in accordance with Executive Order 7B.
The Boards will convene (in compliance with the State of Connecticut and guidance by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education) only when there is a need to address immediate business, and in accordance with the requirements of Executive Order 7B.
Members of the Board of Education are fellow residents of Chester, Deep
River and Essex, elected by the communities to serve 6 year terms
without compensation. Regular meetings are normally held Thursday of the
month, September through June. Regular Meeting Agendas and Special
Meeting Agendas are posted in each of the Town Halls and here on the
Region 4 website.
